OSHA CAGED LADDER UPDATE
OSHA has aligned fall protection requirements for general industry with those for construction, easing compliance for employers who perform both types of activities. This is a safety issue and Steel Nation encourages you to come into compliance as soon as possible.

All new fixed ladders being installed over 24’ must be equipped with a personal fall arrest system or ladder safety system (i.e. retractable fall arrest system or trolley system). Ladders with cages or wells will no longer be permitted to be installed. - STARTING NOVEMBER 19, 2018
Any fixed ladders over 24’ that do not currently have any protection at all (cage or well) must, at minimum be equipped with a personal fall arrest system or ladder safety system. - STARTING NOVEMBER 18, 2036
