He and his wife, Marti, owned a Pittsburgh advertising firm for 14 years before taking an alternate route in 2006. For 18 months, Caskey learned how to design and build coal preparation plants and bath houses, mainly in Appalachia but also in several western states. Sound mitigation was a primary feature of those structures. It just launched Steel Nation Environmental, a division that will focus on construction projects and bidding for local, state and federal governmental contracts. The company promoted one of its project managers to lead operations and recently hired a five-person crew to begin. They’re starting with a stamped concrete project in State College. This project is a major wet gas gathering site near Clarington, Ohio, where five (5) compressors were installed: Three (3) Cat 3616’s and two (2) 3612’s.
