Steel Nation Premieres Its New Video at Second Annual Symposium.

Washington, PA – November 24, 2018 – Steel Nation, located in Southpointe, Pennsylvania, launched its 2018-2019 symposium by showcasing its new capabilities video to clients, vendors, and subcontractors at the Hyatt Hotel, Meadows Casino. Steel Nation is a full-service Construction, Engineering, and Environmental firm that specializes in the design, construction, service, and repair of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMBs).

President, Mark Caskey, who in 2008, started the business in a spare bedroom, has developed Steel Nation into one of the fastest-growing companies in the region, with four divisions that primarily serve the Oil & Gas industry; Steel Nation Buildings, Steel Nation Engineering, Steel Nation Environmental, and Steel Nation Facility Services. The company also is active in the water and wastewater, healthcare, and commercial markets.

Caskey opened the symposium by thanking his guests for attending. “Two weeks ago we surpassed last year’s revenue, and you are largely responsible for our continued growth,” he said.

Partner and EVP/CFO, Mark Dooley talked about the potential for further market penetration. “Steel Nation has a lot on its plate for Q4, 2018 and for the first quarter of 2019,” said Dooley. “It’s going to be a busy year for a lot of different areas of the business.”

“At Steel Nation, ‘Safety for Life’ is not just a slogan,” said partner and EVP, Alan Reid. “We’re extremely proud of our safety record. On average, we have about 50 people in the field on a day-to-day basis, which equates to something like 102,000 man hours, all with zero lost time days. That’s an impressive record and something to be proud of.”

Due to last-minute transportation problems caused by an early winter storm, keynote speaker, Dave Taylor, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association, was unable to attend the event. Stepping in on short notice, David J. Spigelmyer, President of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, and last year’s keynote speaker, noted that the increased development of the region’s abundant shale gas resource has had a positive global impact. “As the largest producer of natural gas in the world, the United States is helping to spread access to affordable, reliable energy to countries around the globe,” Spigelmyer said. “30% of America’s natural gas comes from the tri-state region. With increased production, greater capacity, and further investment in infrastructure, such as natural gas export terminals, U.S. shale’s global footprint will continue to expand, bringing the many benefits that come along with it.”

Mark Caskey presented the Steel Nation Innovation Award to Jim English and his team at Pittsburgh Air Systems (PAS) for their work on the brand new Steel Nation fan. In keeping with the Steel Nation pledge to offer the safest, coolest, quietest, cleanest products on the market, the prototype fan generates little noise while pushing an impressive 30,000 CFM. Jim English, PAS’s VP, Industrial said, “It was quite an honor to accept this award. We’ve been working with Mark and the Steel Nation team for years, so working together on the prototype fan project, and many other projects, has continued to strengthen our relationship.”

“The symposium is a great way to say thank you to our preferred vendors and subcontractors for being an integral part of our continued growth,” said Dooley. “The better our partnerships, the greater value we can offer to our clients.”

Caskey closed the symposium by saying, “To all our subcontractors, vendors and clients – you earned a seat at this table. You guys are the best. Thanks for coming.”

Steel Nation is a proud Washington, PA-based corporation working primarily in the energy sector of North America. Steel Nation is the leading designer/builder of transmission, storage and compression facilities, for the mid-stream and transmission operations of the Oil & Gas industry throughout the Marcellus Shale, Utica Shale and other American reserves.
